In 2007, EOG Resources’ new headquarters allowed the relocation of their Houston office to a 250,000-SF space in Heritage Plaza. Next door to Heritage Plaza, the federal Land Building houses EOG Resources’ worldwide computer center that serves all of the EOG domestic and international operations. The project included all vertical and horizontal cabling to and from the IDF rooms. The building’s ability to provide a safe, flood-proof and weather-resistant location for EOG Resources’ main computer facility, with the equipment necessary to provide 24/7 uninterrupted computer service, became a driving force in a relocation decision. EOG’s 15,000-SF self-supporting storm-proof center data center provides state-of-the-art computer power for this oil and gas company. Because preliminary space plans had been developed, Bellows was able to hit the ground running once the lease was signed. Bellows completed all of the demolition and build-back in 15-months, allowing EOG to make all of their moves from One Allen Center to Heritage Plaza on time. Bellows has since renovated these same spaces.
